Try This At-Home Strength Training Workout

When you are Strength training you are involving resistance, usually weights, to give you  healthy muscle development. This doesn’t just help make you stronger, it will also aid in boosting your metabolism if even just done once a week. It can also help reduce the negative effects that can come from sitting most of the day. Yes, that’s correct! 

The tricky part can come if you aren’t a member of a gym of fitness center. You may also just want to have the freedom of having a workout at home. But, where and how to do you start? 

If you have become curious about trying some strength training at home, below are some ideas and tips to try. First off, this full body workout will involve a super set style of workout for the full body. This meaning that you will aim to keep your heart rate up by skipping rest between some set. Use weights that are challenging enough for you but aren’t too heavy. If you are just starting out on strength training, try no weights to gauge your strength. Sound fun enough to try?

Okay, let’s get started!

Things you may need: Kettlebell, or adjustable dumbbells

Kettlebell swing: Do 3 sets of 10 reps. (Can use a dumbbell to swing)

Standing dumbbell lateral raise: Do 3 sets of 10 reps, now you rest 60 seconds

Dumbbell goblet squat: Do 5 sets of 8 to 10 reps 

Dumbbell floor press: Do 5 sets of 8 to 10 reps, now you can rest 60 seconds

Dumbbell deadlift: Do 4 sets of 8 to 10 reps 

Bent over dumbbell row (or a single-arm row): 4 sets of 8 to 10 reps, now you rest 60 seconds 

With time, you can increase reps to make it more challenging. You can also experiment with adding more weight, whichever works best and will give you a good strength training workout. It’s also essential to have thirty seconds to a minute rests between sets to give even recovery time and prevent any bad form that may occur from muscle fatigue.
